Lady Jade~ Your Holistic Doula
What is A Holistic Doula?
A doula who embraces the concept of body, mind and spirit during birth. She realizes there is a WHOLE lot more going on here than meets the eye. Mystery, unseen energy, thoughts, fears, and a vortex that often stops time. A holistic doula considers not only what happens on a physical level at birth but what's going on behind the scenes. Although this term is newer to the vocabulary, it specifies a doula who has taken interest in understanding birth beyond what happens in the body.

What is The Full Moon Effect®?
Full Moon Effect- /full moon effect/-/(fo˘ol) (moˉon) (iˈfekt)/- the physical, emotional and moral effect that takes place in a woman's life after bringing forth a new life.
The moon, as we all know, is intimately related to the tides, human behavior and the female reproductive cycle. In addition, this peaceful luminary is the heavenly body that governs the astrological sign of Cancer, which is in turn the sign of home and mother.
Ancient customs from cultures around the world dictate that new mothers are to be cared for and nurtured during this important time of adjustment, in order to build a strong foundation of support for the vital work of mothering.
We believe that women who are nurtured through their sacred postpartum cycle will have an increased capacity to nurture their babies, their families, their communities, and themselves.
In the United States the maternal physiological needs during postpartum are often ignored; the focus tends to be more on the external and baby’s needs. Many women feel it is a sign of accomplishment to get back to ‘normal life’ as soon as possible and aren’t encouraged to take it easy, this can lead to many health problems immediately or later in life.
The good news is that a grass-roots movement has begun that seeks to meet the needs of postpartum women. The Full Moon Effect Postpartum & Womb Care is a part of this movement.

“The better she feels, the more easily she will integrate her new role and learn to distinguish the needs of her child from her own. Care of new mothers assures survival of the species, but more than that, it positively affects the quality of life for us all,” - Elizabeth Davis – Hearts and Hands.
